Open Sew // Labels
Looking to level up your sewing projects with a little guidance? Join us for Open Sew, an assisted open workshop designed for those who already know the basics of sewing but want support on a personal project and enjoy creating in community.
Our Open Sew Sessions include a 10-15 minute demo/overview at the beginning of the session. Demo Themes are listed below with with the session dates.
Bring your creativity and your project—whether it’s alterations, upcycling or crafting something entirely new. Our instructor will be on hand to help you set up your machine, provide advice on tricky steps, and answer questions as you go. If you have your own sewing machine, we highly recommend bringing it for this class so you can get comfortable learning the ins and outs of your machine, otherwise you're welcome to use one of our class sewing machines.
This class is perfect if you:
Want a second set of eyes before making that first cut.
Need clarification on specific techniques.
Crave a collaborative space to work on your sewing projects.
If your project is highly specialized or requires in-depth one-on-one guidance, we recommend inquiring about private lessons to ensure you get the support you need.
Please note, you must have recent sewing experience in order to attend. To be eligible to sign up, students must have completed our Intro to Sewing Course OR have proficient understanding and application of how to use a home sewing machine including threading the machine, winding a bobbin, adjusting stitches & stitch settings and changing presser feet.

Linen Pants or shorts // 2-Day sewing Workshop
Class Dates: Thursday Evenings July 3rd & 10th 5-8pm
Take your sewing skills further by making a pair of relaxed, easy-to-wear linen pants or shorts! In this two-session workshop (three hours each night), you'll work through the full process of garment construction—from fabric cutting to sewing and finishing details—using the ZW Block Pant pattern by Birgitta Helmersson.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to:
Read and work from a sewing pattern
Cut fabric efficiently with a zero-waste design approach
Sew and finish seams for durability and a clean look
Create an adjustable, comfortable elastic waistband
This class is built for those who have taken Intro to Sewing or are already proficient at using a sewing machine. Students are required to purchase the ZW Block Pant PDF pattern before class (link provided upon registration). All other materials are included in the class fee. Students will be able to choose their fabric from 3 100% linen fabrics in these color variations: oatmeal, black, oatmeal/burnt orange ink splatter.

Sewing Workshop // Sun-Soaked Cover-UP
In this single session class, we will craft a stylish, sun-shielding cover-up that transitions effortlessly from beach to brunch. No need to wait for vacation – bring the resort vibe to your wardrobe with this versatile piece that's ready for sunshine adventures. Using luxurious Turkish towels as our base, you'll transform simple materials into a garment that's both practical and Instagram-worthy. Learn essential sewing techniques from a machine or hand sewing while adding your personal touch with optional embellishments.
We will be using a sewing machine and there will be opportunities for hand sewing, but not required!

Alterations Workshop
Got pants that need hemming or taking in? Or a hole that needs to be fixed on your favorite shirt? This absolute beginner class will cover how to use a home sewing machine and teach students how to do basic alterations and mending on their own.
In our Alterations class, students will learn the basics of using a home sewing machine - how to get set up, sewing workstation ergonomics, how to thread a machine, how to wind a bobbin, and using a straight stitch. We will then go over how to measure an alteration, how to do a basic hemming alteration (shortening), how to take in side seams and a basic fusible fabric patch - on your clothes! You'll leave this workshop with the knowledge and skills to do your own basic alterations in the future.
For this workshop, students are highly encouraged to bring their own clothing to alter. Before altering clothing, or if you are unable to bring your own clothes to alter, we will be practicing on other fabric.
Workshop fee includes practice fabric, usage of sewing machines, tools and notions, and white or black thread for your project.

First Stitch // A “try it out” night
Interested in sewing, but not sure if you’re ready to commit to a multi-day intro course? Join us for your first stitch and try it out! In this 2 hour class, you’ll learn how to operate a sewing machine and make your very own sunglasses (or glasses!) case.
This class is about getting comfortable with a domestic sewing machine and learning the basics of a straight stitch and backstitch. Your class fee includes usage of our sewing machines and all materials - just bring your curiosity!

Sewing Workshop // Linen Napkins & Placemats
Bring a touch of garden cottage aesthetic to your home - whether you’re hosting or just enjoying a weeknight dinner, linen napkins and placemats add a touch of sophistication to your dinner table. Join us and make your own set of 4 napkins and 4 placemats. This absolute beginner class will cover how to use a home sewing machine and teach students how to sew mitered corners and work with linen fabric. Think of your new linen napkins and placemats as cute summer crafts meet a Martha Stewart aesthetic.
In our Linen Napkins & Placemats class, students will learn the basics of using a home sewing machine - how to get set up, sewing workstation ergonomics, how to thread a machine, how to wind a bobbin, and using a straight stitch. We will then go over how to cut and press fabric, and how to create a beautiful mitered corner finish. You'll leave this workshop with the knowledge and skills to create your own infinite supply of napkins and placemats in the future.

Intro to Sewing // 4-Day Course
Mondays & Wednesdays August 4th-14th 5-8pm
This foundational sewing course is offered in two formats: a 2-Day (8-hour) or 4-Day (12-hour) option. Students are expected to come with little to no sewing experience, and will leave with the ability to independently tackle beginner sewing projects - like a tote bag or simple t-shirt.
Students will learn a number of technical skills, including:
How to thread and use a sewing machine
Straight stitch and back stitch
How to measure fabric
How to cut fabric
Working with zippers
Changing presser feet
Stitch reinforcement
Sewing is a skill built on repetition and during this course, you’ll build essential sewing skills through hands-on practice in a supportive, project-based classroom.
If you’ve purchased a machine and haven’t been able to get started, or watched 10 YouTube videos and still can’t crack the code, or are just curious about sewing basics - this class is for you! No experience or tools needed, just bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll cover the rest.
Throughout each session, you’ll gain practical knowledge and skills through a range of beginner-friendly projects that cover different types of sewing (eg. garment making, accessories, quilting, household items). Each participant should expect to finish the course with 2-3 completed projects and the skills and confidence to keep sewing on your own.
What’s included:
12 or 8 hours of instructor-led coursework
Cotton, linen, and polyester fabrics
Thread, zippers, and other notions
All tools and equipment needed for the course, including use of one of our Singer Heavy Duty sewing machines during class

Mending Workshop // Denim: Visible Patches
Class Date: August 7th 5-8pm
Customize your jeans, denim shorts or overalls with beautiful visible patches. Patches can elevate and revive old denim, and in this class we’ll cover how to make your own visible patches using quilting cotton and scrab fabric. This confident beginner class is a great way to start working with denim and personalizing your wardrobe.
In our Visible Patches class, students will learn the basics of a sewing project - how to measure, cut and press multiple pieces of fabric, how to make a simple patch, how to pin patches to existing garments, how to create reinforcement stitches and how to use a zig zag stitch.
For this workshop, students are highly encouraged to bring their own clothing to mend and add patches to. Before mending your denim clothing, or if you are unable to bring your own clothes, we will be practicing on other fabric. This class will focus on denim fabrics, so please avoid bringing any stretchy or lightweight fabrics to add patches to.
Workshop fee includes practice fabric and patch fabric, usage of sewing machines, tools and notions, and white or black thread for your project.
Please note this is a Confident Beginner class and students are expected to already know how to operate a sewing machine, including threading the machine, winding the bobbin, straight stitch, back stitch and cutting fabric. If you need a refresher on these skills, we recommend attending our Intro course or an Absolute Beginner class first.

Sewing Workshop // PIcnic Blanket
Class Date: September 22nd 5-8pm
Make your own custom picnic blanket to bring to your next Red Rocks concert, camping trip or the City Park Farmers Market! This confident beginner class will cover working with fleece and outdoor fabric, using velcro in your projects, and creating a basic strap. You’ll leave with a finished 54” x 54” picnic blanket ready for your next adventure.
In our Picnic Blanket class, students will learn the basics of a sewing project - how to measure, cut and press multiple pieces of fabric, how to pin & clip pieces together, how to make a simple strap, how to create reinforcement stitches, how to attach velcro and how to assemble a project.
Workshop fee includes fabric, usage of sewing machines, tools and notions, and white or black thread for your project. Students will be able to choose from a variety of fleece colors and prints. Selections vary by class and season.
Please note this is a Confident Beginner class and students are expected to already know how to operate a sewing machine, including threading the machine, winding the bobbin, straight stitch, back stitch and cutting fabric. Intro to Sewing // 3-Day Course
Monday Evenings May 5th-19th 5-8:30pm
In an effort to accommodate Memorial Day plans, we have adjusted this class to 3 days and our time together will be 5-8:30pm. We will have more than enough time to cover all of the necessary material and accommodate a dinner break. Looking forward to creating with y’all!
This foundational sewing course is offered in two formats: a 2-Day (8-hour) or 4-Day (12-hour) option. Students are expected to come with little to no sewing experience, and will leave with the ability to independently tackle beginner sewing projects - like a tote bag or simple t-shirt.
Students will learn a number of technical skills, including:
How to thread and use a sewing machine
Straight stitch and back stitch
How to measure fabric
How to cut fabric
Working with zippers
Changing presser feet
Stitch reinforcement
Sewing is a skill built on repetition and during this course, you’ll build essential sewing skills through hands-on practice in a supportive, project-based classroom.
If you’ve purchased a machine and haven’t been able to get started, or watched 10 YouTube videos and still can’t crack the code, or are just curious about sewing basics - this class is for you! No experience or tools needed, just bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll cover the rest.
Throughout each session, you’ll gain practical knowledge and skills through a range of beginner-friendly projects that cover different types of sewing (eg. garment making, accessories, quilting, household items). Each participant should expect to finish the course with 2-3 completed projects and the skills and confidence to keep sewing on your own.

Looking to level up your sewing projects with a little guidance? Join us for Open Sew, an assisted open workshop designed for those who already know the basics of sewing but want support on a personal project and enjoy creating in community.
Our Open Sew Sessions include a 10-15 minute demo/overview at the beginning of the session. Demo Themes are listed below with with the session dates.
Bring your creativity and your project—whether it’s alterations, upcycling or crafting something entirely new. Our instructor will be on hand to help you set up your machine, provide advice on tricky steps, and answer questions as you go. If you have your own sewing machine, we highly recommend bringing it for this class so you can get comfortable learning the ins and outs of your machine, otherwise you're welcome to use one of our class sewing machines.
This class is perfect if you:
Want a second set of eyes before making that first cut.
Need clarification on specific techniques.
Crave a collaborative space to work on your sewing projects.
If your project is highly specialized or requires in-depth one-on-one guidance, we recommend inquiring about private lessons to ensure you get the support you need.
Please note, you must have recent sewing experience in order to attend. To be eligible to sign up, students must have completed our Intro to Sewing Course OR have proficient understanding and application of how to use a home sewing machine including threading the machine, winding a bobbin, adjusting stitches & stitch settings and changing presser feet.

Got pants that need hemming or taking in? Or a hole that needs to be fixed on your favorite shirt? This absolute beginner class will cover how to use a home sewing machine and teach students how to do basic alterations and mending on their own.
In our Alterations class, students will learn the basics of using a home sewing machine - how to get set up, sewing workstation ergonomics, how to thread a machine, how to wind a bobbin, and using a straight stitch. We will then go over how to measure an alteration, how to do a basic hemming alteration (shortening), how to take in side seams and a basic fusible fabric patch - on your clothes! You'll leave this workshop with the knowledge and skills to do your own basic alterations in the future.
For this workshop, students are highly encouraged to bring their own clothing to alter. Before altering clothing, or if you are unable to bring your own clothes to alter, we will be practicing on other fabric.
