Class Date: September 22nd 5-8pm
Make your own custom picnic blanket to bring to your next Red Rocks concert, camping trip or the City Park Farmers Market! This confident beginner class will cover working with fleece and outdoor fabric, using velcro in your projects, and creating a basic strap. You’ll leave with a finished 54” x 54” picnic blanket ready for your next adventure.
In our Picnic Blanket class, students will learn the basics of a sewing project - how to measure, cut and press multiple pieces of fabric, how to pin & clip pieces together, how to make a simple strap, how to create reinforcement stitches, how to attach velcro and how to assemble a project.
Workshop fee includes fabric, usage of sewing machines, tools and notions, and white or black thread for your project. Students will be able to choose from a variety of fleece colors and prints. Selections vary by class and season.
Please note this is a Confident Beginner class and students are expected to already know how to operate a sewing machine, including threading the machine, winding the bobbin, straight stitch, back stitch and cutting fabric. If you need a refresher on these skills, we recommend attending our Intro course or an Absolute Beginner class first.
