Bring a touch of garden cottage aesthetic to your home - whether you’re hosting or just enjoying a weeknight dinner, linen napkins and placemats add a touch of sophistication to your dinner table. Join us and make your own set of 4 napkins and 4 placemats. This absolute beginner class will cover how to use a home sewing machine and teach students how to sew mitered corners and work with linen fabric. Think of your new linen napkins and placemats as cute summer crafts meet a Martha Stewart aesthetic.

In our Linen Napkins & Placemats class, students will learn the basics of using a home sewing machine - how to get set up, sewing workstation ergonomics, how to thread a machine, how to wind a bobbin, and using a straight stitch. We will then go over how to cut and press fabric, and how to create a beautiful mitered corner finish. You'll leave this workshop with the knowledge and skills to create your own infinite supply of napkins and placemats in the future. 

Workshop fee includes practice fabric, usage of sewing machines, tools and notions, and white or black thread for your project.

  • Absolute beginners — no sewing experience needed.

  • Linen fabric, thread, tools, notions and use of our sewing machines.

  • Everything is provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you'd like!

  • Maximum 12 students.
