Class Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays December 8th-17th 5-8pm

This foundational sewing course is offered in two formats: a 2-Day (8-hour) or 4-Day (12-hour) option. Students are expected to come with little to no sewing experience, and will leave with the ability to independently tackle beginner sewing projects - like a tote bag or simple t-shirt. 

Students will learn a number of technical skills, including:

  • How to thread and use a sewing machine

  • Straight stitch and back stitch

  • How to measure fabric

  • How to cut fabric 

  • Working with zippers

  • Changing presser feet

  • Stitch reinforcement

Sewing is a skill built on repetition and during this course, you’ll build essential sewing skills through hands-on practice in a supportive, project-based classroom.

If you’ve purchased a machine and haven’t been able to get started, or watched 10 YouTube videos and still can’t crack the code, or are just curious about sewing basics - this class is for you! No experience or tools needed, just bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll cover the rest.

Throughout each session, you’ll gain practical knowledge and skills through a range of beginner-friendly projects that cover different types of sewing (eg. garment making, accessories, quilting, household items). Each participant should expect to finish the course with 2-3 completed projects and the skills and confidence to keep sewing on your own.

What’s included:

  • 12 or 8 hours of instructor-led coursework

  • Cotton, linen, and polyester fabrics

  • Thread, zippers, and other notions

  • All tools and equipment needed for the course, including use of one of our Singer Heavy Duty sewing machines during class

  • Scrap fabric for practice

Projects may include: 

  • Pattern weights, Quilted strip potholder, zip pouch, lined tote

  • 2 linen napkins, Quilted strip potholder, zip pouch, woven t-shirt with a neckline facing

Take the next step in your jewelry-making journey with our Jewelry II course! Designed for those who already have a foundation in metalsmithing, this course introduces new techniques to help refine your craft and bring more complexity to your designs. You’ll explore bezel roping and multi-stone settings, learn to bezel-set faceted stones, and dive into pic soldering and chain making. Throughout the course, we’ll also focus on refining your skills—helping you achieve cleaner solder joins, smoother finishes, and more precise craftsmanship.

Course Includes:

  • Brass and copper materials

  • Sterling silver for practicing bezel and faceted stone settings

  • A variety of 3–8mm CZs

  • Use of all tools and equipment needed throughout the course

  • Unlimited independent studio time during the course duration

  • Lists of recommended tools and materials to continue learning

While all necessary materials and tools are provided, you’re welcome to bring your own materials and favorite tools to personalize your experience!

Jewelry Making III: Casting & Stone Setting

Build on your metalsmithing skills with Jewelry III, a course designed to introduce new techniques that bring depth and dimension to your work. This class explores the fundamentals of sand casting, giving you the ability to replicate organic textures and unique forms in metal. You’ll also learn tube and flush setting, refining your approach to incorporating faceted stones into your designs. Throughout the course, we’ll focus on precision and finishing techniques to help you create polished, professional-quality pieces.

Course Includes:

  • Scrap sterling silver for 2 casting projects (and a guided list of materials to continue casting in class)

  • 3 sterling silver tube settings

  • A variety of 2-4mm CZs

  • Use of all tools and equipment needed throughout the course

  • Unlimited independent studio time during the course duration

  • Lists of recommended tools and materials to continue learning

Brass and copper will be available if desired, but the course primarily focuses on sterling silver. Students are encouraged to bring their own scrap metal, faceted stones, and are welcome to work with gold if they’d like to give it a go!

Who Can Join?

This course is ideal for students who have completed Jewelry I or II or have experience with basic soldering, sawing, and bezel setting. If you're looking to expand your skills into casting and advanced stone setting, this is the perfect next step!

This foundational sewing course is offered in two formats: a 2-Day (8-hour) or 4-Day (12-hour) option. Students are expected to come with little to no sewing experience, and will leave with the ability to independently tackle beginner sewing projects - like a tote bag or simple t-shirt. 

Students will learn a number of technical skills, including:

  • How to thread and use a sewing machine

  • Straight stitch and back stitch

  • How to measure fabric

  • How to cut fabric 

  • Working with zippers

  • Changing presser feet

  • Stitch reinforcement

Sewing is a skill built on repetition and during this course, you’ll build essential sewing skills through hands-on practice in a supportive, project-based classroom.

Jewelry Making III: Casting & Stone Setting

Build on your metalsmithing skills with Jewelry III, a course designed to introduce new techniques that bring depth and dimension to your work. This class explores the fundamentals of sand casting, giving you the ability to replicate organic textures and unique forms in metal. You’ll also learn tube and flush setting, refining your approach to incorporating faceted stones into your designs. Throughout the course, we’ll focus on precision and finishing techniques to help you create polished, professional-quality pieces.

Course Includes:

  • Scrap sterling silver for casting

  • Sterling silver tube for stone setting

  • A variety of 3–8mm CZs

  • Use of all tools and equipment needed throughout the course

  • Unlimited independent studio time during the course duration

  • Lists of recommended tools and materials to continue learning

Brass and copper will be available if desired, but the course primarily focuses on sterling silver. Students are encouraged to bring their own scrap metal, faceted stones, and are welcome to work with gold if they’d like to give it a go!

Who Can Join?

This course is ideal for students who have completed Jewelry I or Jewelry II or have experience with basic soldering, sawing, and bezel setting. If you're looking to expand your skills into casting and advanced stone setting, this is the perfect next step!
