Sand Casting Workshop
ONE SPOT LEFT
$250
In this three hour workshop, you will learn the basics of sand casting and walk out with a finished, sterling silver signet ring. This class is perfect for those that love organic and raw styles as sand casting sometimes has a mind of it’s own and can leave rustic marks of sand and dents in your ring (we personally love the results)!
We will start with three different style signet rings you can choose from and follow the steps to create a mold for our cast in the sand. Once the mold is prepared, attendees will work side by side with an instructor to melt scrap silver down and then pour into their sand mold. After that, we will learn how to file, sand and polish your rings to your liking. Attendees will be able to re-cast their rings up to three times, as sometimes the cast may not be successful. This class is great for those that want to try something new and play with the possibilities of metal-working. If you’ve taken a jewelry making class with us before, this is a great follow up workshop that will reinforce your already learned skills and teach you something new.

Wax Carved Ring Workshop
This wax carving class will walk students through the process of carving their own signet ring! Students will familiarize themselves with wax carving tools such as: a wax ring sizer, files, jewelers saw, millimeter calibrator, compass, straight edge, sandpaper and an alcohol lamp. We will use these tools to carve out the students' desired ring. Students will learn various techniques to achieve their final product! Models of wax rings in various stages will be provided and Lenora will be hands-on in guiding you through the process.
We will send the final wax product out to Carrera Casting Company. The turnaround time is approximately 3 weeks. We will either have a designated time to pick up final rings at Fluer or we can mail them directly to you!
This workshop will include needed supplies and your ring cast in brass. However, if you would like it cast in sterling silver, we can do so for an additional $50.
*If you would like your ring cast in solid gold, pricing can be provided!
This workshop aims to get students into their flow state and create something unique and funky!
