Sand Casting Workshop
sold out
$250
In this three hour workshop, you will learn the basics of sand casting and walk out with a finished, sterling silver signet ring. This class is perfect for those that love organic and raw styles as sand casting sometimes has a mind of it’s own and can leave rustic marks of sand and dents in your ring (we personally love the results)!
We will start with three different style signet rings you can choose from and follow the steps to create a mold for our cast in the sand. Once the mold is prepared, attendees will work side by side with an instructor to melt scrap silver down and then pour into their sand mold. After that, we will learn how to file, sand and polish your rings to your liking. Attendees will be able to re-cast their rings up to three times, as sometimes the cast may not be successful. This class is great for those that want to try something new and play with the possibilities of metal-working. If you’ve taken a jewelry making class with us before, this is a great follow up workshop that will reinforce your already learned skills and teach you something new.
