Fold Formed Earring Workshop

  • Fleur 13 East 4th Avenue Denver, CO, 80203 United States (map)

$200

Learn a brand new technique with us! In this three hour workshop, we will learn fold forming, a forging process where sterling silver is folded, hammered, and opened to create organic leaf shapes. We will anneal the sterling with a torch to soften it, then work it on the vise and with hammers and pliers as we watch the sheet transform. Each participant will cut their sterling sheet to make wide or long leaves, then finish their pair by drilling holes for ear wires or soldering them on, so every set is one of a kind. We will also talk about the oxidation process, and you can finish your earrings with a patina if you’d like a darker look.

This is a new skill we haven’t taught in our studio before. It’s perfect for anyone who has taken our Forged Cuff Workshop or any of our other workshops, and beginners are always welcome too!
