Course Dates: Wednesday Evenings, January 7th-28th 6-8pm
This intensive course includes 8 hours of woven tapestry instruction, covered over 4 days. Each student will learn the basics of tapestry weaving on a lap loom through various projects. At the end of the course, students will be able to create a woven tapestry of their own design using fibers of their choosing.
Students will learn a number of technical skills, including:
Fiber types
How to warp a loom
A variety of tapestry stitches
Creating patterns
How to finish a piece (tapestry vs. flat textile)
Troubleshooting common mistakes
This course includes:
8 hours of instructor-led coursework
Fibers for all projects (includes a variety of materials)
Lap loom to keep after the course
All tools and equipment needed for the duration of the course
