Join Dani Hughes for a 4-week introduction to the fundamentals of copper foil stained glass. This Intro to Stained Glass Course is designed for beginners and will guide you through the process of creating your own original stained glass piece. Over the four weekly sessions you learn the essential techniques of stained glass including pattern and design making, glass selection, cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering.
Before beginning your final project you will create a small practice piece where you’ll learn the tools and techniques you’ll use throughout the course. Once completed you’ll bring your own design to life. You can create an original design or choose & customize one of our beginner friendly patterns. If you have a idea in mind, Dani will help you develop a design that is achievable within the scope of the course.
You’ll learn:
safety and studio practice
fundamentals of the copper foil method
glass cutting, grinding, copper foil application, soldering and finishing
how to design a stained glass pattern
how to select glass based on color, texture and transparency
basic glass care and maintenance
