    • saw frames

    • hammers/mallets

    • mandrels

    • bezel pushers/burnishers

    • pliers

    • shears

    • table vice(s)

    • ring clamps

    • dapping block

    • soldering picks/tweezers/copper tongs

    • solderite/charcoal blocks

    • annealing pans

    • acetylene torches

    • pickle pot

    • tumbler and burnishing fluid

    • flex shafts (but not attachments)

    • scrap brass and copper

    • handy flux

  • Before you get started, you may need to purchase some materials and consumable tools. Here’s what you’ll need to bring:

    • materials (non-ferrous metals; only brass, copper, silver or gold)

    • solder

    • files

    • saw blades

    • sandpaper

    • flex shaft attachments

    • any other consumables

We do offer a Studio Starter Kit for anyone interested. Please allow two weeks for it to arrive, but feel free to use our scrap materials and consumables until it does!

  • We highly recommend stopping by Stone Stop Jeweler’s Supply in Lakewood, CO to gather any tools or materials for jewelry making. They have a wide variety of hand tools, metals and stones to look through.

To order materials online, our go-to supplier is Rio Grande. If you don’t have a wholesale account with Rio, you are welcome to use our code RFSL&C to get full access to Rio’s inventory for 6 months.

Saw Blades: I prefer Liquid Gold saw blades #3/0

Files: #3 files are the best fit for a wide range of projects. Having a selection of needle files and large hand files will be best for your tool collection.

Sandpaper: 400-3000 grit sand paper and #000 Extra Fine Steel Wool will be best for all projects.

Patinas: Liver of Sulfer and Black Max will turn copper and sterling silver black. I recommend Midas Green Blue Patina to oxidize brass and copper.

Sand Casting: If you have taken on of our casting classes, then you are welcome to sand cast during studio time. You are free to use our vessels, crucibles and carving tools, but need to provide your own Delft Clay (sand) for use.
